Leaders don’t lead.

They create

more leaders.

Our Story

The idea of One Yoga was sparked in 2015 when our founder realized that we don’t have a physical place to learn the different types of yoga and other holistic approaches that have shown to improve our lives.

Having a forum where holistic topics are discussed with an open mind is where it all started. Education has always been a big part of our society, that is what we are doing here. Another big part of One Yoga is to apply what we learn into our daily routine.

Our inner being craves living in harmony. A part of this craving is to learn how things work.

One Yoga, creating a space where holistic topics are openly shared with others and put into practice.

OUR MISSION

A Holistic Educational Center

At One Yoga, our foundational focus is to create space for learning holistic approaches to live in harmony and balance with your environment. When we know why we are doing something from the center of our heart, a shift occurs within you that moves our souls toward the truth.

This truth is encoded in each of us to live fully aware and embrace all obstacles along our path with an open heart.

Meet Our Leaders

  • Founder and President

I didn’t know what I wanted to do when I was growing up, unlike most of my peers. But deep down inside of me I knew that I wanted to help others. I just didn’t know what that looked like. I’m motivated to do this work because I know it has helped me and countless others around the world. The main idea of One Yoga is to create a space where education is placed first and second is applying that into practice.

My yoga practice has led me to create and operate a holistic educational center. Living in equanimity can aid our understanding for higher learning and purpose. This purpose has lured me to lead the way to help others see the best version in themselves, a world that is one soul.

Hi, my name is Jiaqi. I received my chemistry PhD from the West Virginia University in December 2020.

Currently, I am working at the University of Michigan as a postdoctoral research fellow to deepen my training in the chemical field. Born and raised up in China, I am like most Chinese people who are good at holistic healing and self-medication. I also have a pretty solid understanding of the traditional Chinese herbal medicine being an amateur, owing to my experience working as an “apprentice” in my grandpa’s

Chinese medicine clinic while I was a kid. I didn’t get any bucks from my grandparents for helping out during those summers, but those memories have made the most enjoyable ones until today. Although I stubbornly refused to pass on family heritage in traditional Chinese medicine, the multidisciplinary trainings I have received since my undergraduate have allowed me to work in a wide range of scientific realms, including organic chemistry, biochemistry, medicinal chemistry and pharmaceutics. It has gradually come to my realization that I somehow ended up being a scientist. Driving by a passion of science and my true love of scientific education, I am striving to spread out the knowledge to the broad audience using an universal language that everyone can comprehend. In this team, I am collaborating with brilliant others to help our community, to promote a holistic lifestyle by incorporating science- based tools. Outside lab, you will find me doing yoga, lifting weights, traveling all over the world and reading books. Yes, I have been a nerdy bookworm since I was born.

  • Secretary

Eddy currently lives in the Greensboro, NC, area. He currently holds the position of an Assistant Professor of Economics at North Carolina A&T State University.

“It took six months for one of my best friends to convince me to try yoga, and I am so glad he did not give up on me because this practice is now an essential part of my life. So, my advice to you is: Give it a try! It can truly change your life.

Yoga saved my life during a period of a lot of self-judgment, depression, and self-destructive habits. I often face thoughts such as ‘I can’t do this’ or ‘I am not good enough,’ and yoga has helped me realize that these thoughts only have power over me if I allow them to. By strengthening mindfulness, yoga has empowered me to shift my perspective from judgment to acceptance, love, and gratitude.

Even though life is hard at times, it is also beautiful and worth living. I joined One Yoga because I wanted to help others also have the opportunity to experience this beautiful practice.”

    Jarrett Riley PhD

PhD chemical engineering with experience in R&D

Board Member of One-yoga with an interest and belief in the power of yoga and meditative practices for physical and mental well-being.

The reason I am involved with this organization stems from my own experience with yoga and its ability to help with the healing process through promoting practices that enhance mental and physical wellbeing. I have directly experienced the benefits of using yoga as a tool to navigate life's stressors and helping my body heal from years of overstress.

My background brings experience in the creation of scientific studies and data analytics. The aim is that these skills will be useful to the organization in helping to understand and quantify the positive impact that yoga can have on one's life.
